The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A Williams Supervisor ofR ecords April17, 2015 SPRlS/105 Ms. Beth Kaczenski Town of Erving-Department of Police 71 French King Highway Erving, MA 01344 Dear Ms. Kaczenski: I have received the petition of Michael Dreslinski appealing the response of the Town of Erving-Police Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 10(b); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Dreslinski requested a fax referenced in a specific police report. You initially denied his request, claiming that the responsive record was exempt pursuant to Exemption (f). G. L. c. 4, § 7(26)(£). In a supplemental response dated March 11, 2015, you provided Mr. Dreslinski with the requested records and redacted certain personal information such as dates of birth and social security numbers. In his appeal to our office, Mr. Dreslinski stated "At a minimum, Erving Police is required to provide me with a redacted version of the requested record." Whereas the Department provided Mr. Dreslinski with a partially-redacted copy of the requested record, I will consider his request satisfied. Mr. Dreslinski may appeal the basis of the redactions within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). I will consider this administrative appeal close Supervisor of Records cc: Mr. Michael Dreslinski OneAshburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 · (617) 727-2832.
