This Privacy Policy explains how Cielee LLC ("Cielee", "we", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use mapublicrecord.com (the "Service"). We are a Massachusetts limited liability company and operate the Service as a research tool — we are not affiliated with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or any government agency.
1. Information We Collect
- Cookies and analytics — first-party session cookies plus Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics (only after you consent).
- IP address and device — collected automatically by Vercel and used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Search queries — stored briefly in server logs for performance debugging and aggregate analytics.
- Feedback you submit — when you use the feedback form, we store the email and message you provide.
- AI inputs on /analyze — the request text and agency response you paste are processed by OpenAI to generate analysis. We do not retain these inputs after the request completes.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or government-issued IDs. We do not use the Service to knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate the Service (search, AI analysis, statistics).
- To measure reach and improve the product (analytics).
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
3. Subprocessors We Use
We rely on the following service providers to deliver the Service. Each is bound by a Data Processing Agreement:
- Vercel, Inc. — hosting and Vercel Analytics
- Google LLC — Google Analytics 4 and Search Console
- Turso (ChiselStrike, Inc.) — primary database
- OpenAI, L.L.C. — the GPT model that generates analysis
- Cloudflare, Inc. — DNS, R2 file storage
4. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete— request that we delete your personal information (the "right to be forgotten" under GDPR).
- Correct — request that we fix inaccurate data.
- Port — request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt out— under CCPA, opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we do not sell personal information, so this right is automatically honored).
- Withdraw consent — at any time, by clearing the cookie banner and re-selecting your preference.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@cielee.com with the subject "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.
5. Data Retention
- Server logs / search queries: 90 days, then deleted.
- AI inputs: not stored after the response is returned.
- Feedback messages: kept until you ask us to delete them.
- Analytics data:retained per Google Analytics's default of 14 months.
6. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced via a notice on the homepage for at least 14 days before taking effect.
