The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A. Williams Supervisor ofR ecords August 10, 2015 SPRlS/338 Ms. Nakisha L. Skinner, Esq. General Counsel Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance 600 Washington Street, 5th Floor Boston, MA 02111 Dear General Counsel Skinner: I have received the petition of Sarah Levy, Esq., Senior Attorney of the Welfare Law Unit of Greater Boston Legal Services, appealing the timeliness of the response of the Department of Transitional Assistance (Department) to her request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Attorney Levy requested nine categories of Department records, each containing one or more subcategories. The Department provided a fee estimate, paid by letter dated March 25, 2015. To date, Attorney Levy has received many, but not all responsive records. In correspondence made available to this office it is clear the Department deems Attorney Levy's request a priority and is working to provide all responsive records as soon as possible. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Department provide Ms. Levy with any remaining responsive records within ten (10) days. A copy of any cover letter from the Department associated with such response must be provided to this office.
