The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A. Williams Supervisor ofR ecords December 29, 2015 SPRlS/702 Mr. Richard C. McFarland, Esq. Department of Correction - Legal Division 70 Franklin Street, Suite 600 Boston, MA 02110-1327 Dear Attorney McFarland: I have received the petition of Shane Moffat appealing the response of the Department of Correction (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Moffat requested copies of certain agreements of the Department associated with what Mr. Moffat called "Federal officer status." In its initial response the Department denied this request, and Mr. Moffat appealed. In a call to this office on December 17 , 2015 you stated that the Department is reviewing Mr. Moffat's request and intends to revise its response. Accordingly, whereas this appeal was opened on the basis of complete denial of access, and further whereas it appears the Department is reviewing this response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. cc: Mr. Shane Moffat OneAshburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 · (617) 727-2832 ·Fax (617) 727-5914 www.sec.state.ma. us/ pre
