The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A. Williams Supervisor ofR ecords December 11, 2015 SPRlS/749 Mr. Samuel A. Aylesworth, Esq. City of Cambridge Office of the City Solicitor 795 Massachusetts A venue Cambridge, MA 02139 Dear Attorney Aylesworth: I have received the petition of Attorney Marian Glaser appealing the response of the City of Cambridge (City) to her request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 10(b); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Attorney Glaser requested records of certain contracts and other records. The City provided responsive records. Attorney Glaser appealed, stating her belief that the records provided by the city "were both incomplete and mostly umesponsive." In a letter dated September 30, 2015 you notified Attorney Glaser that you believed "the City has provided all of the documents, some of which were redacted," that were responsive to his request. Members of my staff exchanged voicemail messages with you to determine the existence of any additional records; these attempts at contact were unsuccessful. To assist in the resolution of this appeal, the City is hereby ordered, within ten (1 0) days of this order, to review Attorney Glaser's June 25, 2015 request to determine whether any additional records exist, and provide a final written response to Attorney Glaser, prepared in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. If there are any fees associated with this response a written, good faith estimate must be provided. G. L. c. 66, § 10(a); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.06(2) (where cost of complying with a request for public records is expected to exceed ten dollars ($10.00), custodian of records shall provide written good fai estimate). Once the fees are paid, you must provide the responsive records. cc: Ms. Marian Glaser, Esq. · OneAshburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 · (617) 727-2832 ·Fax (617) 727-5914 www.sec.state.ma. us/pre
