G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Cheek requested to inspect or receive a copy of any records showing the number of license to carry firearms issued by the Department for a particular period. Initially the Department denied this request and Mr. Cheek appealed. In a telephone conversation on December 15, 2015 you explained to me that, upon review the Department decided to amend its response to Mr. Cheek, and intends to provide a revised response with a fee estimate for provision of responsive records. Accordingly, whereas this appeal was opened upon Mr. Cheek's objection to a denial of access I will consider this administrative appeal closed. As the Department has indicated it will provide a fee estimate, it is advised that if there are any fees associated with this response a written, good faith estimate must be provided. G.
