The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A. Williams Supervisor ofR ecords March 11, 2016 SPR16/154 Patrice Garvin Town Administrator Town of Shirley 7 Keady Way Shirley, MA 01464 Dear Administrator Garvin: I have received the petition of Timothy Muise appealing the response of Town of Shirley (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Muise requested copies of records regarding "amounts owed to the Town of Shirley by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as compensation for having a state prison within the Town's confines". The basis of Mr. Muise's appeal is that at the time of his petition the Town had not responded to his request for records. In a March 10, 2016 telephone conversation, Nathan Boudreau the Town's Executive Aide to the Board of Selectmen confirmed to a member of the Public Records Division staff that the Town had provided Mr. Muise with a response to his request for records. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Department's non-response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed.
