The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A. Williams Supervisor ofR ecords June 22,2016 SPR16/419 Laura Weierman, Esq. Massachusetts Parole Board 12 Mercer Road Natick, MA 01760 Dear Ms. Weierman: I have received the petition of Mr. Richard Kachadorian appealing the response of the Massachusetts Parole Board (Board) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Kachadorian requested copies of all instruments used to "assess recidivism," investigative reports, and other communications relating specifically to his case. He also requested copies of any other records used by the Board to make parole decisions. Mr. Kachadorian received an initial response from the Board but, having received no substantive response, Mr. Kachadorian petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of my staff, this office was notified that a response was provided dated May 27, 2016. Records responsive to Mr. Kachadorian's public records request were enclosed. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Board's failure to provide a substantive response to a request for public records, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Kachadorian may appeal the substantive nature of the Board's response within ninety (90) days.
