Williams Supervisor ofR ecords July 11,2016 SPR16/442 Ms. Bonnie McGilpin City of Boston Office of the Mayor One City Square, Suite 500 Boston, MA 02201 Dear Ms. McGilpin: I have received the petition of John Hilliard, a freelance journalist, appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston (City) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Mr. Hilliard requested copies of records regarding the City's Diversity Task Force. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal this office was notified that a response will be promptly provided. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the City's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Hilliard may appeal the substantive nature of the City's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). To assist in requesting and responding to requests for public records please refer to our publication, A Guide to the Massachusetts Public Records Law.
