The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A. Williams Supervisor ofR ecords July 19, 2016 SPR16/503 Mr. Mike Lynch Office of Broadband and Cable City of Boston 43 Hawkins Street Boston, MA 02115 Dear Mr. Lynch: I have received the petition of Don Saklad appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston Office of Broadband and Cable (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 10(b); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Saklad requested a copy of any contact between the City and any entity regarding closed captioning. Having received no response, Mr. Saklad petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of my staff, this office was notified that a response was provided. Further, in this response you explained the City "do[es] not have a contract for closed captioning. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the City's failure to provide a written response, and further whereas the City has indicated that no responsive record exists, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed.
