The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A. Williams Supervisor ofR ecords August 31, 2016 SPR16/639 Chief John F. Carmichael, Jr. City of Walpole Police Department 972 Main Street Walpole, MA 02081 Dear Chief Carmichael: I have received the petition of Patrick N. Bryant, Esq., on behalf of his client Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Veteran Edge, appealing the response of City of Walpole Police Department (Department) to a July 28,2016 request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 10(b); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Attorney Bryant requested copies of five categories of records. Having received a response, including a denial with respect to two items on the request, Attorney Bryant appealed. In a telephone conversation Chief Carmichael explained to me that the Department may wish to review the request again, as it is possible the Department has no records responsive to the denied portions of the request. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Department review the July 28 request and provide a revised written response. Attorney Bryant may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's revised response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). cc: Mr. Patrick N. Bryant, Esq.
