Saad: I have received the petition of Michael Dreslinski appealing the response of the Town of Oxford -Police Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Dreslinski requested a copy ofun-redacted "incident reports related to theft of state property." Initially you provided responsive records that had been redacted. On August 20, 2016 Mr. Dreslinski petitioned this office. He contends that the Department had provided him with redacted incident reports, "without any cover letter or other explanation as to the redactions made to the reports." Subsequent to the intervention by a member of my staff, this office was notified that a cover letter was provided dated September 1, 2016. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Department's failure to provide a revised written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Dreslinski may appeal the substantive nature of the Town's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2).
