The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A Williams Supervisor ofR ecords October 21, 2016 SPR16/884 Ms. Nakisha L. Skinner, Esq. Executive Office of Health and Human Services Department of Transitional Assistance 600 Washington Street Boston, MA 02111 Dear Attorney Skinner: I have received the petition of Erin Smith of Fox News appealing the response of the Department of Transitional Assistance (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 10(b); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Ms. Smith requested the opportunity to review certain Department reports generated for a specified time. In a response dated October 14, 2016, the Department provided Ms. Smith with a fee estimate for the cost of complying with her request. Thereupon, Ms. Smith appealed the fee estimate. It is my understanding that on or about October 20, 2016 a member of my staff contacted you and provided you with a copy of the file related to this appeal and you confirmed that the Department would provide Ms. Smith with a revised response addressing her concerns. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Town's response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Smith may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days.
