Phares appealing the nomesponse ofthe Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Attorney Phares requested copies of all communications from a specifically identified Trooper and any records concerning a specified incident. Having received no response, Attorney Phares petitioned this office. Subsequent to a November 9 telephone conversation with a member of my staff, this office was notified that you have been communicating with Ms. Phares in regards to her request. In a November 8 email, you notified Attorney Phares that the Department was currently researching her request, and that you would contact her regarding the status of the search. The Department must complete its review and provide a response without delay. Attorney Phares may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response wi in ninety (90) days.
