The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A Williams Supervisor ofR ecords December 16, 2016 SPR16/1118 George T. Bahnan Paralegal City of Boston - Law Department 1 City Hall Square, Room 615 Boston, MA 02201 Dear Mr. Balman: I have received the petition of David Lure, Esq. appealing the response of City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Attorney Lurie requested records from the City regarding Boston Grand Prix IndyCar. Previous appeals This request was the subject of previous appeals. See SPR16/703 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (September 16, 2016); SPRl 6/908 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (October 27, 2016). I closed SPR16/908 with the proviso that Department provide Attorney Lurie with a detailed response addressing his concerns pertaining to the privilege log. The City provided a response to the order in an email dated November 21, 2016 in which it provided certain records but withheld others. Attorney Lurie's objected to this response and this appeal (SPR 16/1118) was opened as a result. Current appeal I understand you were copied on Attorney Lurie's December 5, 2016 appeal petition and a member of my staff contacted your office about this matter. You confirmed the City would provide Attorney Lurie with a detailed response addressing his concerns. Whereas this matter was opened based upon Attorney Lurie's objection to the City's November 21 response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the City provide Attorney Lurie a supplemental response to his request. Attorney Lurie may appeal the substantive nature of the City's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R 32.08(2).
