Box 100 South Walpole, MA 02071 Dear Ms. Markham: I have received the petition of William Murray appealing the nomesponse of the Department of Correction (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Murray requested a specifically identified portion of the Records Manual Procedure and copies of two memos y specifically identified Department employees. Having received no response, Mr. Murray petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of my staff, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated December 16, 2016. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Department's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Murray may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). To assist in requesting and responding to requests for public records please refer to our publication, A Guide to the Massachusetts Public Records Law.
