The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A Williams Supervisor ofR ecords December 16, 2016 SPR16/1145 Mark Kaminsky Dear Mr. Kaminsky: I have received your petition appealing the nomesponse of the Carver Police Department to your request for public records. Under the Public Records Law and the Access Regulations (Regulations) a records custodian has ten (10) days in which to respond to a request. G. L. c. 66, § 1O (b ); 950 C.M.R. 32.05. This response may be an offer to provide records, a fee estimate for provision of the records, or a denial. Whereas your letter of appeal and your original request are both dated December 1, 2016, the 10-day time frame in which a custodian must respond to a public records request has not yet passed. As such, I am unable to assist you in this appeal at this time. If, however, you have not received a response to your request after the 10-day time frame has elapsed, please feel free to resubmit your appeal.
