The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Shawn A Williams Supervisor ofR ecords December 22, 2016 SPR16/1218 Sargent Michael Hanlon Worcester Police Department 911 Lincoln Square Worcester, MA 01608 Dear Sargent Hanlon: I have received the petition of Michael Dreslinski appealing the response of the City of Worcester - Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); ~also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Dreslinski requested "documents pertaining to [an] August 2015 letter to Worcester Police from Attorney Hector Piniero regarding Worcester Police SWA T Team raid at 17 Hillside Street" and "[a] copy of mandamus complaint served on Chief Gardella by the Telegram and Gazette in 2000." Along with his request, Mr. Dreslinski also submitted payment of three dollars and zero cents ($3.00) to compensate for the costs of such records. Having not received a response, Mr. Dreslinski petitioned this office. Subsequent to intervention by a member of my staff, I learned that the Department had responded to Mr. Dreslinski's request via certified mail on December 19, 2016. Along with the response, the Department also returned the check that Mr. Dreslinski initially submitted. Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Dreslinski may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days.
