Stone Law Department City of Springfield Springfield, MA 011 03 Dear Ms. Stone: I have received the petition of Russell Seelig appealing the nonresponse of City of Springfield- Law Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Seelig requested all documents regarding a specifically identified property. Having received no response, Mr. Seelig petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of my staff, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated January 9, 2017. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Department's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Seelig may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). · To assist in requesting and responding to requests for public records please refer to our publication, A Guide to the Massachusetts Public Records Law.
