Murray Supervisor of Records January 25, 2016 SPR17/088 Katie Silvia Director of Public Records/Grievance Manager Massachusetts Department of Corrections 50 Maple Street Milford, MA 01757 Dear Ms. Silvia: I have received the petition of William Murray appealing the response of the Department of Correction (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Murray requested a memorandum from a specifically identified Department employee for a specified date in 2015 with directions for the EPRS process. The Department initially responded that the memorandum did not exist. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of my staff, this office was notified by a member of the Department that she believed Mr. Murray was looking for an identical memorandum issued in 2016; however, it did not exist. Mr. Murray is now in possession of the requested 2015 memorandum. I will now consider this administrative appeal closed To assist in requesting and responding to requests for public records please refer to our publication, A Guide to the Massachusetts Public Records Law.
