The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords February 13, 201 7 SPR17/192 Nancy E. Glowa, Esq. City Solicitor City of Cambridge 795 Massachusetts Ave. Room 320 Cambridge, MA 02139 Dear Attorney Glowa: I have received the petition of John Hawkinson appealing the nonresponse of the City of Cambridge- City Solicitor (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O (b ); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, Mr. Hawkinson requested "any information or correspondence regarding Goal-Setting Sessions of the Cambridge City Council." Having received no response, Mr. Hawkinson petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of my staff, this office was notified that the City never received Mr. Hawkinson's original request. Mr. Hawkinson emailed his request to an email address that is out of service. The City was not made aware of his request until February 8, 2016. Upon acknowledgement of Mr. Hawkinson's request, the City has agreed to provide him with a response in a timely manner. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the City's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that Mr. Hawkinson receives a response to his request without delay. Mr. Hawkinson may appeal the substantive nature of the City's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
