The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords February 28, 2017 SPR17/257 Chief Bruce D. Spiewakowski Warren Police Department 1 Milton 0. Fountain Way-PO Box 606 Warren, MA 01083 Dear Chief Spiewakowski: I have received the petition of Brian Corriveau appealing the nonresponse of Warren Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Corriveau requested "copies of the Police Department budget set by the town along with a breakdown of how the towns [sic] money was spent, going back 5 years." Having not received a response, Mr. Corriveau petitioned this office. Subsequent to intervention by a member of my staff, I learned that the Department contacted another representative within the Town who provided Mr. Corriveau with a response dated February 7, 2017. Whereas this matter was opened on the basis of the Department's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Corriveau may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Sincerely, ~ r r ~ Supervisor of Records c~: Brian Corriveau One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
