The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords March 1, 2017 SPR17/258 Andrea L. Stone Paralegal City of Springfield - Law Department 36 Court Street, Room 210 Springfield, MA O1 103 Dear Ms. Stone: I have received the petition of Attorney Michelle S. Cruz appealing the nonresponse of City of Springfield-Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, Attorney Cruz requested copies of digital and paper correspondence within a certain time period belonging to a specifically identified individual containing several keywords and names. Claiming to have not yet received any response from the Department, Attorney Cruz petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department intends to provide a response. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Department provide said response without delay. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Attorney Cruz may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Michelle S.
