The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords March 9, 2017 SPR17/279 Andrea L. Stone Springfield Law Department 36 Court Street, Room 210 Springfield, MA O1 103 Dear Ms. Stone: I have received the petition of Matthew Szafranski appealing the nonresponse of the Springfield Law Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Szafranski requested all emails to or from a specified email address for a specific date range that included any of a list of specified search terms. This request was the subject of a previous appeal. See SPR 17 /125 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (February 2, 2017). I closed SPR 17/125 upon the Department's explanation that Mr. Szafranski' s request had not been received. The Department was provided with a copy of the file associated with the appeal and you noted that the Department would begin work on responding to the request. Subsequently, Mr. Szafranski notified this office that he received no further response from the Department, and this appeal (SPR 17 /279) was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, this office was notified that a response was provided dated March 8, 2017. Whereas this appeal was opened based upon the Department's failure to provide a response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Szafranski may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
