The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 16, 2017 SPR17/325 Francine L. Moody Administrative Secretary Lancaster Police Department 1053 Main Street Lancaster, MA 01523 Dear Ms. Moody: I have received the petition of John Rousseau appealing the nonresponse of the Lancaster Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lO(A); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on February 8, 2017 Mr. Rousseau requested "all records related to the August, 2014 train derailment in Lancaster (possibly August 9, 2014.)" Claiming to have not yet received a response, Mr. Rousseau petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department provided a response dated March 13, 2017. Whereas this appeal was opened on the basis of the Department's lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Rousseau may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, -~~ m1));v~ Rebecca S.
