Stone Paralegal City of Springfield - Law Department 36 Court Street, Room 210 Springfield, MA O1 103 Dear Ms. Stone: , I have received the petition of Attorney Michelle S. Cruz appealing the nonresponse of City of Springfield Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Attorney Cruz requested copies of digital and paper correspondence within a certain time period belonging to a specifically identified individual containing several keywords and names. This request was subject to a previous appeal and determination. See SPRl 7/258 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (March 1, 2017). This office closed that appeal with the understanding that the Department would provide a response to Attorney Cruz without delay. Claiming she still has yet to receive a response, Attorney Cruz petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department intends to provide a response by April 1, 2017. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide said response by April 1, 2017. Failure to comply with this order may result in referral to the Office of the Attorney General for compliance. G.L. c. 66, § lOA(b). It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
