The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth · Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 30, 2017 SPR17/380 Attorney Sean W. Farrell Office of the Chief Legal Counsel Department of State Police 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Attorney Farrell: I have received the petition of Michael Gordon appealing the nomesponse of the Department of State Police Office of the Chief Legal Counsel (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Gordon requested a series of reports, focusing mainly on documents regarding training certification information on K-9 units within the Department of State Police. Having received no response, Mr. Gordon petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of my staff, this office was notified that a response would be provided without delay. The Office has let it be known that Mr. Gordon's request has been relayed to the "F Troop." When the Office receives and reviews the records, they will provide a response to Mr. Gordon. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Office's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that Mr. Gordon receives a response to his request in a timely manner. Mr. Gordon may appeal the substantive nature of the Office's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~!:::<f Supervisor of Records cc: Michael Gordon One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre• pre@sec.state.ma.us
