The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 6, 2017 SPR17/384 Cynthia Slade Town Clerk Town of Truro 24 Town Hall Road Truro, MA 02666 Dear Ms. Slade: I have received the petition of Peter Burgess appealing the response of the Town of Truro Town Clerk's Office (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1 OA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Burgess requested copies of various records associated with colonial-era history in Truro. The Town provided a response dated March 12, 2017 in which it provided microfiche copies of some of the records. Unsatisfied with this response and wishing to gain access to Town archives, Mr. Burgess petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that there is a meeting scheduled on April 20, 2017 in which Mr. Burgess and representatives from the Town plan on attending to review and discuss his request. During this meeting, Mr. Burgess will gain access to Town archives where he can peruse Town files to gauge their pertinence to his inquiry. Whereas the Town is making records available to Mr. Burgess for his review, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Burgess may appeal the substantive nature of the Town's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~Mtu~ Rebecca S.
