The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords March 30, 2017 SPRl 7/404; SPRl 7/406 James Lamanna, Esq. Staff Attorney City of Lynn - Law Department Lynn City Hall 3 City Hall Square, Room 406 Lynn, MA 01901 Dear Attorney Lamanna: I have received the petition of Arthur Grenier appealing the response of the City of Lynn Law Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Grenier requested several categories ofrecords concerning affairs with the Lynn Police Department. Representatives from the Police redirected these inquiries to the Department. Claiming to not yet have received a substantive response, Mr. Grenier petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department intends to provide Mr. Grenier with a response for both of these inquiries. Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that said response is provided within ten (10) business days. Mr. Grenier may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See C.M.R. 32.08(2).
