The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 13, 2017 SPR17/436 Nicole I. Taub, Esq. Senior Staff Attorney Office of the Legal Advisor Boston Police Department One Schroeder Plaza Boston, MA 02120 Dear Attorney Taub: I have received the petition of Jonathan Cohn of MuckRock appealing the response of the Boston Police Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lO(b); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2). Specifically, on February 7, 2017 Mr. Cohn requested copies of: 1. Any records, electronic or written, that contain one or more of the following phrases: "No Boston 2024," "No Boston Olympics,' and/or "Boston 2024." 2. Any records, electronic or written from, June 13, 2015 referencing, the Boston Pride parade and the terms "Boston 2024," and/or Olympic(s)." The Department provided Mr. Cohn with a written response to his records request dated March 1, 2017. Mr. Cohn appealed. On April 11, 2017, you confirmed to a member of the Public Records Division staff that the Department is in the process of providing Mr. Cohn with records responsive to his request. Whereas this appeal was based on the Department's March 1st response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Department provides the responsive records without delay. Mr. Cohn may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
