The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords April24, 2017 SPR17/533 Clare B. Wheatley Department of Correction Old Colony Correctional Center One Administration Road Bridgewater, MA 02324 Dear Ms. Wheatley: I have received the petition of J.D. Carrier appealing the response ofthe Old Colony Correctional Center (OCCC) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Carrier requested "a copy of the posting that shows the [OCCC] library closed from 3/27 to 4/02." On April4, 2017, Mr. Carrier was denied these records and has since petitioned this office. This appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the OCCC was able to locate a copy of the requested record and intends on sharing it with Mr. Carrier. Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the OCCC provide said response within ten (1 0) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre(a),sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Carrier may appeal the substantive nature ofthe OCCC's response within ninety (90) days. See C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~urra~ Supervisor of Records cc: J.D.
