The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords May 4, 2017 SPR17/540; SPR17/541 Alycia DeAngelis, Esq. Massachusetts State Police Office of the Chief Legal Counsel 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Attorney DeAngelis: I have received the petition of Robert Thompson appealing the nonresponse of Massachusetts Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, Mr. Thompson requested copies of a police report in regards to an arrest on a specifically identified date, as well as paperwork generated in regards to a motor vehicle that was impounded on the same date. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Thompson petitioned this office and these two appeals were opened as a result. Subsequent to receipt of a new appeal from Mr. Thompson, I learned that the Department provided a response to his request for records on April 18, 2017. Whereas Mr. Thompson's appeals were based on the Department's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider these administrative appeals closed. On May 3, 2017 this office received an appeal from Mr. Thompson objecting to the Department's April 18th response. This office opened a new appeal (SPRI 7 /604) to review the substance of the response. Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Robert L.
