Maloney Office of the City Clerk City of Lawrence 200 Common Street Lawrence,MA 01840 Dear Mr. Maloney: I have received the petition of Maya Shaffer appealing the nomesponse of the City of Lawrence - City Clerk's Office (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Shaffer requested "statistics, memos, and communication that support Mayor Rivera's claim that Minivans are the # 1 vehicle in transportation of stolen rims in Lawrence" as well as other communication. Having not yet have received a response, Ms. Shaffer petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the City intends on providing Ms. Shaffer with the requested records. Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the City provides said response within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@rsec.state.ma. us. Ms. Shaffer rriay appeal the substantive nature of the City's response within ninety (90) days.
