The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords May 18, 2017 SPR17/676 Captain Paul Hamilton Everett Police Department 45 Elm Street Everett, MA 02149 Dear Captain Hamilton: I have received the petition of Betsabe Del Pilar appealing the response of the Everett Police Department (Department) to her request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Del Pilar requested police records responsive to an injury sustained by a family member. Unsatisfied with the Department's response, which notes the Department's intention to withhold the requested records, Ms. Del Pilar petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, I learned that a representative from the Department intends on providing a supplemental response. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Department provide Ms. Del Pilar with said response within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Del Pilar may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S.
