The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords June 20, 2017 SPR17/780 Richard J. Siemasko, Esq. City ofNewburyport- Police Department 4 Green Street Newburyport, MA 01950 Dear Lieutenant Siemasko: I have received the petition of Arthur Grenier appealing the response of the City of Newburyport Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Grenier requested records pertaining to departmental policies, logs, and arrest reports for a specifically identified address. Initially, the Department responded with a fee estimate for compiling the records and objecting to this fee. Mr. Grenier petitioned this response to this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, I was informed that the Department had provided a response dated June 15, 2017 along with responsive records and waived the fee. Since this appeal was opened based upon the Department's fee estimate, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Grenier may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08. Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S.
