The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary ofthe Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records September 7, 2017 SPR17/1159; SPR17/1161 James M. Kreidler Town Administrator Town of Townsend 272 Main Street Townsend, MA 01469 Dear Mr. Kreidler: I have received the petition of Kelly M. Kelly appealing the response ofthe Town of Townsend Town Administrator (Town) to her request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, Ms. Kelly requested records which she believes are in possession of the Town, including a copy of an Internal Affairs investigation concerning an identified individual and communications relating to the investigation. Unsatisfied with the Town's responses, Ms. Kelly petitioned this office and these two appeals were opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Town intends on providing a supplemental response to Ms. Kelly focused on addressing the concerns she outlined in her appeals. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Town provide said response within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy ofthis response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Kelly may appeal the substantive nature of the Town's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Kelly M.
