The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 28, 2017 SPR17/1172 Albert Alexander Correa-Martinez Dear Mr. Correa-Martinez: This office has received your appeal related to your request, dated August 21, 2017, for records from the Massachusetts Department of State Police - Crime Lab (Lab). After reviewing this information I find that I am unable to accept your appeal. The Public Records Access Regulations, which govern the procedural aspects of all appeals, provide records custodians with ten (10) business days in which a response to a public records request must be provided. See 950 C.M.R. 32.06 (2)(b); G.L. c. 66, § lO(b). The 10-day time frame in which a custodian must respond has not yet elapsed. If after 10-business days have passed and the Lab denies your request or fails to respond, you may appeal to this office. At that time this office will review the matter. Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S.
