Barbieri: I have received the petition of Maya Shaffer appealing the nomesponse of the City of Haverhill Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Shaffer requested records relating to the Department's " ... [n ]uisance abatement vehicle." Having received no response, Ms. Shaffer petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated August 16, 2017. Upon being notified that this office was petitioned regarding the matter, the Department resent their original response to Ms. Shaffer, and asked for confirmation that she had received it the first time as well. A member of the Public Records Division staff also reached out to Ms. Shaffer seeking clarity on her request, and whether she was satisfied or not with the Department's response. To date, neither the Department nor this office has received a response from Ms. Shaffer. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Department's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Shaffer may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S.
