The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords September 7, 2017 SPR17/1214 Kelly Leahy Police Records Manager Wellesley Police Department 485 Washington Street Wellesley, MA 02482 Dear Ms. Leahy: I have received the petition of Ron Alexander appealing the nomesponse of the Wellesley Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Alexander requested "to inspect all documents and reports in the possession of the Wellesley Police Department that pertain" to himself. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Alexander petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the proper agent for handling public record requests never saw the inquiry. Nonetheless, after the Department was made aware of this appeal, a representative within the Department noted their willingness to provide a response. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Department provide said response within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Alexander may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days. See C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
