Murray Supervisor of Records September 13, 2017 SPR17/1254 Heidi Mora Records Access Officer Essex County Sheriff's Department 20 Manning A venue Middleton, MA 01940-2807 Dear Ms. Mora: I have received the petition of Michael Dreslinski appealing the nomesponse of the Essex County Sheriff's Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Dreslinski requested a blank "copy ofthe 'form' used to track and/or log incoming and outgoing inmate/detainee mail." Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Dreslinki petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Department intends on providing Mr. Dreslinski with a response. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Department provide Mr. Dreslinski with a response within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Dreslinski may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
