The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords September 22, 2017 SPR17/1324 Jennifer P. Migliaccio, Esq. Staff Counsel Massachusetts State Police 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Attorney Migliaccio: I have received the petition of Margaret Monsell of the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute appealing the nonresponse of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Attorney Monsell requested several categories of records concerning marijuana eradication, arrests, and value. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Attorney Monsell. petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department responded to Attorney Monsell' s request with a response sent via email on September 22, 2017. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Monsell may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~· Rebecca S.
