The of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supen, isor of Record$ October 11,2017 SPR17/1422 Richard K. Jeffery, Esq. Chief Legal Counsel Essex County Sheriffs Department 20 Manning Avenue, P.O. Box 807 Middleton, MA. 01949 Dear Attorney Jeffery: I have received the petition of Michael Dreslinski appealing the nonresponse of the Essex County Sheriffs Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, Mr. Dreslinski requested records conceming Department vehicles. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Dreslinski petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Board responded to Mr. Dreslinski's request with a response sent on October 4, 2017. \Vhereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Dreslinski may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S.
