Murray Supervisor ofR ecords October 26, 2017 SPR17/1527 Helena Rafferty Deputy Chief Canton Police Department 1492 Washington Street Canton, MA 02021 Dear Ms. Rafferty: I have received the petition of Michael Dreslinski appealing the response of the Canton Police Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Dreslinski requested records related to Department vehicles, as well as surplus equipment. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Dreslinski petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Department intends on providing Mr. Dreslinski with a response to his appeal. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that the Department provide Mr. Dreslinski with a response within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Dreslinski may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days.
