The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords October 31, 2017 SPR17/1536 Mr. James Casieri City of Brockton Building Department 45 School Street Brockton, MA 02301 Dear Mr. Casieri: I have received the petition of John M. Gallagher appealing the nonresponse of the City of Brockton Building Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Gallagher requested two (2) categories of records pertaining to certain building permit numbers. Having received no response, Mr. Gallagher petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, this office was notified that the Department had never received Mr. Gallagher's initial request. Regardless, the Department has agreed to respond to Mr. Gallagher's request. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Department's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed with the proviso that Mr. Gallagher receives a response without delay. Mr. Gallagher may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Sincerely, ~ Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofRecords cc: Mr. John M.
