Halpin, Esq. Office of the Chief Legal Counsel Department of State Police 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Attorney Halpin: I have received the petition of Mr. Frank L. Stanley appealing the nonresponse of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, Mr. Stanley requested "records in connection with Case No. 12-06482, Department Case No. 2012-109-Xl03-0118, [and] Property Item 2-1, 8GB Sandisk Cruzer USB Thumb-drive." Having received no response, Mr. Stanley petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, this office was notified that the Department had never received Mr. Stanley's initial request. Regardless, the Department has agreed to respond to Mr. Stanley's request. Accordingly, the Department is hereby ordered to provide a response to Mr. Stanley made in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and.this order within ten business days.
