G. L c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, Mr. Snell requested records related to an identified individual. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Snell petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to intervention by a Public Records Division staff member, I learned that while Mr. Snell's request was dated April 14, 2018, the Office did not receive it until May 7, 2018. The Public Records Access Regulations, which govern the procedural aspects of all appeals, provide records custodians with ten (10) business days in which a response to a public records request must be provided. See 950 C.M.R. 32.06 (2)(b ); G. L. c. 66, § 1O (b ). The 10-day time frame in which a custodian must respond has not yet elapsed. Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If after 10-business days have passed the Office denies Mr. Snell's request or fails to respond, he may appeal to this office. Sincerely, Rebecca S.
