G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Sanders requested "...all records pertaining to #9900- 7081 ..." Having received no response, Mr. Sanders petitioned this office. Under the Public Records Law and the Access Regulations (Regulations) all requests for public records must be met with a response within ten business days of receipt of the request. G. L. c. 66, 5 1O (a)-(b). The response may contain, among other things, an offer to provide records, a fee estimate for provision of the records, or a denial. G. L. c. 66, 5 10(b). All records custodians must comply with both the Public Records Law and the Regulations with respect to the timeliness of response. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department responded to Mr. Sanders request with a response sent on July 6, 201 8. Accordingly, as the basis of this appeal was the Department's lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Sanders may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
