The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords July 3, 2018 SPR18/962 Beth Nicklas, Esq. General Counsel Massachusetts Life Sciences Center 1000 Winter Street, Suite 2900 Waltham, MA 02451 Dear Attorney Nicklas: I have received the petition of Colman Herman appealing the response of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Herman requested a copy of: "any and all settlement agreements, exit agreements, severance agreements, and/or the like that the [MSLC] has executed with employees for the period of January 1, 2015 to the present." On June 25, 2018, the MSLC provided Mr. Herman with the responsive employee termination settlement agreements of three individuals that were executed on April 6, 2017, April 20, 2017 and May 23, 2017. However, the MSLC redacted the names and addresses of the employees. Consequently, Mr. Herman petitioned the Supervisor of Records (Supervisor), and this appeal was opened. As a result of this appeal, via email on June 29, 2018, the MSLC provided Mr. Herman with un-redacted copies of the three employee agreements responsive to his request. In a June 29th telephone conversation with Mr. Herman, a Public Records Division attorney confirmed that the June 29th production of documents satisfied Mr. Herman's request. Accordingly, I now consider this appeal closed. Sincerely, Rebecca S.
