The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords September 7, 2018 SPR18/1316 Kerry A. Collins, Esq. Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory 124 Acton Street Maynard, MA 01754 Dear Attorney Collins: I have received the petition of Alex Scensy appealing the nonresponse of the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory (Laboratory) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § IOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Scensy requested records pertaining to a specifically identified homicide. Having received no response, Mr. Scensy petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated August 17, 2018. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Laboratory's failure to provide a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Scensy may appeal the substantive nature of the Laboratory's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S.
