Grenier appealing the response of the City of Salem Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Grenier requested a copy of a certain report. In a September 11, 2018 response, the Department informed Mr. Grenier that it could not provide the report because the case is still open and under investigation. As a result, Mr. Grenier petitioned the Supervisor of Records (Supervisor), and this appeal was opened. Subsequently, Mr. Grenier emailed a Public Records Division staff attorney asking that this office close his appeal because he received the report.
